Tuesday's CSI3* MVV Energie Grand Prix of Mannheim went to Italy, courtesy of Emilio Bicocchi and the 10-year-old gelding Ares (Ephebe For Ever x Rebel). Bicocchi beat a strong field of riders in this 1.60m Grand Prix, that saw nine riders move on to the jump-off after going clear over the first round track.
As one of seven riders, Bicocchi produced a second clear round and was also the fastest one with a time of 38.39 seconds. Not too far behind followed Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann on the 15-year-old mare Gotha FRH (Goldfever x Prestige Pilot) crossing the finish line in 38.91 seconds. Third went to Dutch rider Gert Jan Bruggink on Vampire (Marome Nw x Voltaire), while Christina Liebherr finished fourth and Philipp Weishaupt fifth.
