Christian Ahlmann (GER), won the fourth leg of the DKB-Riders Tour in Münster on Sunday – repeating his victory from Wiesbaden in May. The 43-year old German rider brought out the 9-year-old stallion Clintrexo Z (Clintissimo x Rex Z) to claim the victory in the CSI4* Grand Prix of Münster. His 38.30 seconds in the second round paid off with 20 points for the ranking of the DKB-Riders Tour and a brand-new BMW convertible with 300 hp from Hakvoort.
In the packed grandstands the winner was enthusiastically celebrated, alongside runner-up Marcus Ehning (GER) who for a long time was the leader of the class with Funky Fred (For Pleasure x Pilot). "In the past, Christian was faster than me on several occasions and that is something I have to live with," smiled Ehning.
Both riders praised their horses: "Today, the jump-off was certainly faster and more difficult than for example in Berlin and he did it really well," said Ahlmann about Clintrexo Z.
"Funky Fred is indeed somewhat overshadowed by Comme il Faut and Pret-a-Tout. He is our own, I have already ridden the mom and the dad and Funky is a horse of incredibly good character, when you need him like today – he is there," Ehning said.
Third place went to Philipp Weishaupt (GER) and Asathir (Diamant de Semilly x Papillon Rouge). The Selle Francais mare is actually owned by the Saudi rider Kamal Bahamdan. "Whenever I can ride her, then we are always very successful," said Weishaupt. "I lost a bit time on the second line today, but I'm very satisfied."
With the victory in the fourth stage of the DKB-Riders Tour, Ahlmann has a strong lead with his forty points. Denis Nielsen (GER), Lars Nieberg (GER) and Matthew Sampson (GBR) follow on 20 points each.
