Ireland's Denis Lynch and his faithful 16-year-old partner Abbervail van het Dingeshof (Nonstop x Jus de Pomme) won Saturday's feature class in Basel, the Preis des Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois.

Just like in Friday's Golden Drum of Basel it would be a foreign rider that prevented a Swiss win at the 7th edition of the Longines CSI Basel. Only 0.16 seconds separated Lynch and runner-up Romain Duguet aboard Twentytwo des Biches (Mylord Carthago*HN x Kalor du Bocage), with the in-form Swiss rider having to settle for runner-up position this time around.

Third place went to Belgium's Jerome Guery, another rider that has showed consistently good form over the last year, now riding the promising 10-year-old Grand Cru van de Rozenberg (Malito de Reves x Heartbreaker) that goes from strength to strength.

Fourth and fifth in this 1.50 competition were France's Roger Yves Bost and Germany's Marco Kutscher.

Earlier in the day, Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano took yet another win in the 1.45 Grosses Basler Jagdspringen der Solbau GmbH riding Cocoshynsky (Cornet Obolensky x Popcorn). Germany's Daniel Deusser ended second and France's Simon Delestre third, picking up world ranking points as well.
