CSI Aachen kicked off this week in the Deutsche Bank Stadium, the arena usually reserved to the dressage riders during the CHIO Aachen.

On Friday, Robbert Ehrens won the first qualifier for today’s Grand Prix with his mare Hisa (Indoctro x Parco). 0.31 seconds behind in this 1.40 class followed Ireland's Darragh Kenny on Global van’t Braunerthof (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Landetto). In third came Dutch rider Tom Martens on Ebaja Oh (Ephebe For Ever x Corrado I).

The second qualifier saw home rider Frederik Knorren on top riding Aspen 11 (Acorado I x Falkner). The German rider left Japan’s Hikari Yoshisawa a little over a second behind, aboard Clicksem (Cardino x Littorio). Third place went to Great Britain’s Jessica Mendoza on Spirit T (Tornado x Carneval Drum) in this 1.45 competition.

Saturday’s Medium Tour Final under floodlights came to an end with a thrilling jump off, and Darragh Kenny won this technical 1.45 class aboard Global van’t Braunerthof. Kenny also won Thursday’s 1.40 Medium Tour on Catuso (Canto x Corrado I).
