It was a great day for Eric van der Vleuten (NED) at CSI4* La Coruna. The Dutch rider claimed the victory in the 1.45m Dachser Trophy riding Wunschkind 19 (Casall x Caletto I), to a time of 42.74 seconds in phase two of this world ranking class. Earlier in the day, Van der Vleuten was also second in the 1.50m NH Collection Trophy.

Van der Vleuten can consider La Coruna and Casas Novas his second home, since the Galician fashion company Massimo Dutti is his sponsor and his name is included on the list of winners at the equestrian center.

No one was able to overcome Van der Vleuten's 42.74 seconds. Alexis Deroubaix (FRA) finished second on Secret du Pays d'Auge (Quick Star x Kannan) in 43.29, while the third place went to the host's own Gerardo Menéndez Mieres riding Costello DC (Cassino x breeding unknown) to a time of 43.33 seconds.

The Italian anthem was also played in La Coruna, as Emilio Bicocchi led the lap of honor in the NH Collection Trophy. The 1.50m class against the clock – counting for the world ranking – was a tight competition, where the top three riders were separated by only a second. Bicocchi completed a brilliant round with Call Me (Contendro II x Julio Mariner XX) in a time of 63.43, to take the win.

Then followed Eric van der Vleuten with Zigali P S (BMC Kigali x Palfrenier), in a time of 63.62 seconds. Van der Vleuten's compatriot Lisa Nooren finished third with VDL Groep Sabech d'Ha (Qredo de Paulstra x Talent Platiere), stopping the clock in 64.45 seconds.
