The Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain is in its last weekend of competition, and Friday’s final Grand Prix qualifier went to Irish rider Trevor Breen with Bombay (Lord Z x Bon Ami).
No less than 22 horse-and-rider combinations jumped clear in this CSI4* 1.50m class counting for the world ranking presented by Pavo. In the jump-off, Breen and Bombay stopped the clock in 36.16 seconds to finish ahead of German rider Marcel Marschall on Fenia Van Klapscheut (Cicero Z Van Paemel x Ahorn Z) in 36.35. In third place was the French combination of Olivier Robert on Vangog Du Mas Garnier (Cornet Obolensky x Quidam de Revel) in 36.43 seconds, while fourth place went to Belgium's Karel Cox and fifth to Great Britain's Harriet Nuttall.
The invitational Grand Prix, where 50 of the top riders from this year’s Sunshine Tour will compete, takes place on Saturday.
