Wout-Jan van der Schans went to the top in the CSI3* Grand Prix of Rouen, riding the 13-year-old gelding Capetown (Oklund x Carlino).

The experienced couple snatched the victory from the hosts, by beating French rider Timothee Anciaume on the 14-year-old Kiamon (Kolibri x Ramiro's Match) with 0.66 seconds. In third followed Colombia's Dayro Arroyave on the 9-year-old mare Adele (Cassini I x Corrado I), 1.55 seconds behind the winning time in the jump-off.

Home rider Pierre Alain Mortier had the final double clear of the class, riding Just Do It R (Action Breaker x Baloubet du Rouet) to a fourth place. Fastest of all was Van der Schans' compatriot Gert Jan Bruggink, but on the expense of a rail down in the jump-off which put him in fifth place with Conelly 2 (Calvados Z x Jalisco B).
