As the day unfolded in Miami Beach, speed demon Emanuele Gaudiano took the win in the CSI5* 1.50/1.55 feature class with his beautiful grey stallion Caspar 232 (Casper x Padarco). The Italian rider finished an impressive two full seconds ahead of 2nd placed US rider McLain Ward on the 15-year-old Rothchild (Artos x Elegant de l'Ile).

In a showcase of speed and agility, Gaudiano took out every stride possible, galloping to the fences and shaving off time in every area. Young talent Bertram Allen took a strong third place, with the chestnut gelding Quiet Easy (Quidam's Rubin x Zapateado) finishing 0.30 seconds behind Ward.

The tough course set by Uliano Vezzani saw just nine riders jump clear, with Kent Farrington securing another good result for the hosts aboard Creedance (Lord Z x Notaris) as fourth placed while fifth went to World Cup Champion Steve Guerdat on Concetto Son (Concetto x Drosseklklang II).
