The popular Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet stole the show ahead of the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Antwerp, with a stunning speed class win with the 12-year-old gelding Quasi Modo Z (Querlybet Hero x Quidam de Revel).

His compatriot Gudrun Patteet led the competition early on, after a phenomenal round on her 8-year-old gelding Sea Coast Calypso v.d.Zuuthoeve (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve). She was pipped to the post by Italy's speed demon Emanuele Gaudiano and the only 7-year-old Carlotta 232 (Chaccomo x Cento) who crossed the line in 62.54s.

But it was Gregroy who rode a phenomenal round, galloping to each fence and crossing the line in 62.31s. The class was the final round ahead of the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Antwerp, kicking off at 18:45 local.
