Longines Grand Prix of Rotterdam 2015

Willem Greve with Carambole.

The Longines Grand Prix Port of Rotterdam turned out to be a very entertaining class with an unbeliveable jump-off. Here is a selection of photos from the class - first out is Willem Greve and the extremly well jumping Carambole that unfortunately got four faults in the competition. All photos (c) Jenny Abrahamsson.

Daniel Deusser with Cornet d'Amour.
This is how we are used to seeing Daniel Deusser and Cornet d'Amour - in the prize giving dressed in ribbons and blankets. This time they ended second after Lucy Davis who took a well deserved win.

Albert Zoer and Gigolo
Albert Zoer seemed pleased with Gigolo even though they ended the first round with four faults.

Ben Maher and Sarena.
Sarena is a beautiful 9 year old that Ben Maher has been competing since the beginning of this year. Before she was named Sixtine de Vains and was competed by Pius Schwizer.

Douglas Lindelöw and Casello
Douglas Lindelöw did really well in the Grand Prix - being double clear ending 10th.

Kent Farrington and Willow
Kent Farrington had his hands full with a very energetic Willow. In their warm-up class Kent pulled down to trot between several fences just to try to calm Willow down a bit.

Abdel Said and Vingino
It is something special with this stallion - Vingino ridden by Abdel Said.

Fixdesign Funke van't Heike
Giulia Martinengo Marquet's Fixdesign Funke van't Heike has such a nice expression.

Henrik von Eckermann and Cantinero
Henrik von Eckermann and Cantinero were double clear and ended 7th in the Grand Prix.

Harrie Smolders and Emerald
Emerald jumped great but a tiny fault in the combination in the jump-off stopped him and Harrie Smolders from a top placement.

Jos Lansink and For Cento
Jos Lansink rode the 9 year old For Cento in one of his first 1,60 m Grand Prix. They qualified for the jump-off and got four faults there. For Cento was previously ridden by Shane Breen.

Leopold van Asten and Vdl Groep Zidane
Leopold van Asten and Vdl Groep Zidane were the best home combination with their 11th place.

Marcus Ehning and Comme Il Faut 5.
It was two impressive rounds from Marcus Ehning and Comme Il Faut in the Grand Prix - ending third. Comme Il Faut has Ludger Beerbaum's famous Ratina Z as a mother.

Sterrehof's Baccarat

Michael Whitaker and Amai.
Michael Whitaker rode the 15 year old Amai in the Grand Prix, but decided to retire after this fence looking down at Amai's legs. We really hope that nothing is wrong with the amazing gelding.

Niklaus Rutschi and Windsor XV
Niklaus Rutschi and Windsor XV seemed to enjoy themselves - here on their way to fence four.

Sergio Alvarez Moya and G and C Quitador Rochelais.
This pair might be dangerous in the future - Sergio Alvarez Moya and G and C Quitador Rochelais.

Peder Fredricson and H&M Flip's Little Sparrow
Peder Fredricson rode Malin Baryard-Johnsson's ride Butterfly Flip's daughter H&M Flip's Little Sparrow.

Joe Clee and Utamaro D Ecaussines
What a weekend for Joe Clee and Utamaro D Ecaussines - first double clear in the Nations cup on Friday and then double clear in the Grand Prix.

Steve Guerdat and Corbinian
Steve Guerdat rode the 9 year old Corbinian - yet another horse that is pretty inexperienced in 1,60 m Grand Prix classes. They did great with only four faults in the first round.

Paul Estermann and Castlefield Eclipse
Paul Estermann and Castlefield Eclipse were the first ones to clear the course and qualify for the jump-off.
