Following a strong start to the 2017 FEI Nations Cup season, Italy has taken over the lead in Europe Division 1 after the 5th leg in Rotterdam. Sweden has jumped up to rank two, pushing former leaders France down to third.

Each team in Europe Division 1 may earn points at six events, and the best four results count for standings.

The full standings after five legs looks as follows:

1. Italy - 345 points

2. Sweden - 307.5 points

3. France - 302.5 points

4. Germany -  285 points

5. Switzerland -  250 points

5. Spain -  250 points

7. Ireland -  210 points

8. Netherlands -  190 points

Seven Division 1 teams will qualify for the 2017 FEI Nations Cup Final in Barcelona in October.
