USA's Kent Farrington stole the win from the hosts in the Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland in Dublin on Sunday, riding Uceko (Celano x Koriander) to the 66 000 Euro first prize. After an extremely good weekend for the Irish riders - who have taken home several wins including the Aga Khan Trophy on Friday in the Nations Cup - it was close to yet another victory, with no less than three home riders making it to the jump-off where two of them ended on the podium.

Ireland’s Kevin Babington was one of eight through to the jump-off from a starting field of 40, and although holding the lead briefly with Shorapur (Stakkato Gold x Drosselklang) Farrington came home with a comfortable two-and-a-half seconds in hand to steal the win. Conor Swail and Grand Cru V. Vijf Eiken (Contact vd Heffinczk x Heartbreaker) finished third three seconds behind the winning time.

The fourth and final double clear of the class belonged to Italy’s Lorenzo de Luca on Geisha van Orshof (Cabrio van de Heffinck x Parco), while Brazil’s Marlon Zanotelli finished fifth on Rock’N Roll Semilly (Diamant de Semilly x La Mare) ending on four faults in the jump-off.
