Douglas Lindelöw (SWE) gave the Swedish crowds their first home win in Falsterbo, when going to the top in Friday morning’s 1.45m class riding Citti 3 (Catoki x Elite). With 65,13 seconds, Lindelöw was slightly faster than Stephanie Holmen (SWE) with Clarence (Clinton x Lancer III) – who crossed the finish line in 65.32 seconds.
Third and fourth place went to Spain: Eduardo Alvarez Aznar with Mogambo (Diamant de Semilly x unknown) and Mikel Aizpurua Quiroga with Roxane de la Beranger (For Pleasure x Shogoun II). Irma Karlsson (SWE) ended fifth with Chacco Star (Chacco-Blue x Converter).
The second 1.45m class of the day – the qualifier for Saturday’s Falsterbo Derby – was won by Irish rider Billy Twomey with Ardcolum Duke (Gypsy Duke x Clover Hill), and it was the pair's second win in two days. The few derby fences that were a part of this class were no problem for the Irish horse. Daniel Coyle (IRL) ended second, riding the 8-year-old Farona (Baltic Vdl x Lux) followed by Giulia Martinengo Marquet (ITA) with Courage des Fegie (Cornet Obolensky x Acord II), Bertram Allen (IRL) with Christy JNR (Indoctro x Clinton I) and Janika Sprunger (SUI) with Icarus vt Klavertje Vier (Bentley x Palestro v Begijnakker).
