The European Championships for children took place at Lake Arena, Austria this weekend - and it was Germany that dominated the championships with a team gold and two individual medals. On the winning team was Beeke Carstensen on Venetzia (Levisto x Capitol I), Hannes Ahlmann on Sunsalve (Singular Joter x Concerto), Britt Roth on Casablanca 84 (Cassini II x Fernando) and Calvin Böckmann on Carvella Z (Caretano Z x Caretino). Carstensen and Böckmann were clear all the way, while Ahlmann only recorded a time penalty - which was what the team was left on after discharging Roth's score.

Silver went to Great Britain on four penalties, with India Bussey, Hallie Lunn, Oliver Fletcher and Lottie Tutt on the team - with a total score of four faults. Poland took bronze with Dalia Lehmann, Wictoria Glowacka, Filip Lewicki and Alekasandra Bolko after a jump-off against Italy.

Individually it was Ireland's Jennifer Kuhnle on Chaitanya 2 (Cartani x Athlet Z) that could go home with the gold. Kuhlne was clear throughout the entire competition, and was joined in a jump-off for the medals by Böckmann, Menke and Carstensen. Being over a second faster than Calvin, Jennifer beat the boys though. This time around Calvin Böckmann had to settle for silver, last week he won gold at the pony eventing championships in Malmö - so here the sport has a real talent. Menke took the bronze over three second behind the winning time.
