Pius Schwizer on his winning round and the track: "I watched Ludger's round and also Patrice's, and knew I had to be fast. I know Quidam du Vivier is a very quick horse, and also very careful. He has jumped better and better – and today was our day [...] I don't think I have to comment on Frank's track – he has years of experience and knows exactly what he is doing and he knows us all."

Pius Schwizer on his winning ride Quidam du Vivier, who will be switched for Toulago tomorrow: "I have known the horse for four years, but have only ridden him for the past four months. He was previously ridden by Chantal Müller, and his previous owner Max Hauri's son. The horse was quite spooky and not so easy, and was supposed not to go so quickly up in the classes – I soon knew he had a lot of quality though."

Patrice Delaveau on his runner-up position and the track: "It's nice to be second, but it is the first day of competition. There is still tomorrow and Monday, so it's all about wait and see [...] There was really a little bit of everything in the course; it was a course that was designed with the horses in mind which was good as it was the first day of competition."

Patrice said this on the pressure of competing on home soil: "That there is pressure is maybe true, but there is also the positive factor that the crowds carries you and spurs you on – so that can play both ways."

Ludger Beerbaum on his horses for the final: "It's exactly the same as then," Ludger answered on the question if he still believes in his quote from Paris last year where he said that Chaman is a horse for a battle, but maybe not for a war. "That is also why I brought two horses here. I will ride Chiara tomorrow and Monday if I qualify."

Ludger Beerbaum on the track: "I think it was a good course, also a little bit of a course build under the facilities we have here – because here we have a fantastic big play field which I think is one of the biggest we ride in indoors. There is a lot of outdoor arenas smaller. With these facilities, I think the course was built not too typical as a Table C class but had a more Table A character. We saw a good class, not too many clears – it was still delicate enough to jump. In my opinion it was the perfect course."
