Great Britain’s Chef d'Equipe Di Lampard: "I'm very happy. We came here determined, and I came with a strong squad and the riders are fantastic. It makes my job very easy!"

The successful Chef d’Equipe continued: "This year started fantastic with three wins and a second. We hope to keep this going for the rest of the season. Nations Cups were always my favorite competitions and now I get to ‘ride’ eight rounds so this is fantastic for me."

Joe Clee was double clear for the British team and got the question if it was easy: "No. It was not easy. My horse is really on form, the course was quite big, but he was trying his best and it was not easy."

Ben Maher, clear in round two for the winning team: "We got there in the end! Diva is actually a quite inexperienced horse, and this is her first Nations Cup and going out first is always difficult. I guess I learned from the two mistakes I made and put that right the second round. I was a bit disappointed after the first round, but I think I tried to keep everyone's hopes up for the second round by doing a clear."

Jessica Mendoza said this about her horse Spirit T: "She jumped amazing and I think I just had an unlucky pole in the first round. I took a bit extra time in the second round to make sure I could clear the fences and she jumped amazing for me".

Michael Whitaker started off with one time penalty in the first round and had five faults in the second round: "I had a little bit of bad luck and the pressure was off me, after the other three being clear."

Ben Maher said this about the course: "The time allowed was quite tight and you had to be very quick for the first three fences, which caused the horses to be anxious and running early on and I think the triple combination in the middle of the course was quite tricky and the approach was very important. Some riders added an extra stride and some didn't. Fence three fell down quite a lot which I didn't expect when I walked the course. But it was faults all over the course and it was a great job from the course designer."
