CHI Geneva

The Concours Hippique International de Genève (CHI) has been voted the world's best showjumping event for the 7th time. This distinction has been awarded by the Année Hippique and the International Jumping Riders Club (IJRC). A just recognition for the almost 30-strong organisation committee and around 700 volunteers, without whom the event quite simply could not take place.

For the 7th time, the title of best showjumping event in the world has gone to CHI Geneva. Both riders and the public had a vote, so this choice rewards the efforts of the committee and its volunteers for staging a quality event that riders and spectators alike appreciate.

In addition to Geneva for show jumping, Aachen (Germany) has again been paid tribute for dressage, along with the eventing of Luhmühlen (Germany), organiser of one of the five top (4-star) events in the world. As for the riders, the title of best eventing rider goes to the German rider Ingrid Klimke, and Carl Hester from Britain gets gold in dressage. In the show jumping category, Olympic champion Steve Guerdat, winner of the 2015 World Cup in Las Vegas, has been voted best rider.

The award ceremony takes place at Palexpo on Saturday, 12 December at 2pm. This largest  indoor arena in the world is where the committee and volunteers of CHI Geneva will receive their prize. The German organisers of Aachen and Luhmühlen will also be present, as will Steve Guerdat.
