Living legend George Morris has been appointed as coach for the Brazilian showjumpers. The contract with the Brazilian Equestrian Federation runs to the end of the 2016 Olympic Games.

"We are happy with the hiring of Mr. George Morris, and we are sure that his ability and undeniable expertise will help our riders greatly in this final stretch towards achievements at the Olympic Games in Rio," said Luiz Roberto Giugni, president of the Brazilian Equestrian Federation.

Morris has had huge success both as rider and trainer, and is today considered one of the very best coaches in the world. Morris retired as Chef d’Equipe for the American team in 2013, the year he turned 75, after leading them to a team silver medal at the 2006 World Equestrian Games and to a team gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games.
