It was an American win in the CSI3* 1.50 Grand Prix at the Lummen Spring Tour, as Alec Lawler went to the top. Aboard the 15-year-old Agamemnon (Briar x Allegretto), Lawler produced one of only three clear rounds in the jump-off that counted a total of twelve riders.
The 24-year-old rider had almost a second down to runner-up Constant van Paesschen, representing the host country – who was riding the 9-year-old stallion Carlow van de Helle (Caretino x Corofino I).
It was a very international podium indeed, as Brazil’s Felipe Amaral finished third on Premiere Carthoes BZ (Carthago x Voltner) – almost four seconds behind the winning time.
