Together with the 11-year-old stallion Alicante (Casall x Indoctro), Jerome Guery won Friday's Prix French Tour General in Chantilly and this afternoon the couple returned to the ring to take the victory in the 1.50 Master Airbus Group presented by Equidia Life.

As promised by Guery on Friday, Alicante is “a horse that we will more see at top level even if there are a lot of things to improve.”

It didn’t take long before the Belgian rider proved his words right, as he with a time of 36.62 seconds beat Germany’s Hans-Dieter Dreher and his gelding Theodore Manciais (Kashmir van't Schuttershof x Power Light) who stopped the timers on 37.31. Swiss rider Pius Schwizer took third place on Leonard de la Ferme CH (Landjuweel x Indigene de Corday) with a time of 38.46 seconds in the jump-off that counted ten riders.

“Even if it’s not the first 5* win of my career, it’s my first in Chantilly in a ring I’ve always loved even when I was here competing in the 2* classes. France is a wonderful country; I love it. I love to ride here because we feel that the crowd supports us; maybe because we are kind of neighbors. So a win here, in this Master Airbus Group, feels really good," Guery said afterwards.
