The German Equestrian Federation has announced their long list for the Olympic Games in Rio. On the list are ten riders, and five of them will also be on the Nations Cup team at CHIO Aachen in July. These five riders are in group one, while the other five are in group two.

Group 1 consists of:

Christian Ahlmann with Codex One, Epleaser van’t Heike and Taloubet Z, Ludger Beerbaum with Chiara and Casello, Daniel Deusser with Cornet d’Amour and First Class van Eeckelghem, Marcus Ehning with Cornado NRW and Pret a Tout as well as Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum with Fibonacci.

Group 2 consists of:

Hans-Dieter Dreher with Cool and Easy, Marco Kutscher with Van Gogh, Janne-Friederike Meyer with Goja, Mario Stevens with Brooklyn and Patrick Stühlmeyer with Lacan.

“Over the season, five riders have stood out and if they all stay sound they would also be the ones to go to Rio,” says Chef d’Equipe Otto Becker who will test these five riders in Aachen before the final team for Rio is selected on the 17th of July.
