During 2016, World of Showjumping will bring our readers regular news from the International Jumping Riders Club. Below is the latest newsletter from the IJRC:

Looking forward to the Olympic Games, the Federations started to declare the teams that will go to Rio de Janeiro.

It seems impossible, that there is the risk the equitation could disappear from Olympics in the future. To avoid this possibility, we have to go on discussing how to improve our social media as requested by IOC and try to have our sport more attractive.
There are still a lot of discussion about the format of the Olympic as the most of the riders doesn’t like to have the formula with 3 riders for Olympics and especially for WEG and Nation Cup.

The International Jumping Riders Club already discussed with all others institutions involved this item also during the past Sport Forum edition.
Alongside with these matters, the IJRC is working on various activities.

During the CSIO of Rome, and after some other CSIO like San Gallo, the Club interviewed some of its members, to know their opinions about the event in order to improve the organization of the shows.

In general the comments were positive that means the Organizers are going in the right direction, but we still have to check extra costs as electricity and manure (which we need to standardize in order to propose acceptable costs)

While in Milan the IJRC director Eleonora Ottaviani, had a meeting with the European Equestrian Federation for the Strategic Planning Group, discussing many subjects  considering the period between 2017 and 2020.

The working group was composed by: Soenke Lauterbach (Ger – Chair), Eleonora Ottaviani (Ita – riders’ representative), Theo Ploegmakers (Ned), Nayla Stössel (Sui), Carina Mayer (Ger) and Emanuele Castellini (Ita).

Regarding the Young Riders Academy, the new program conceived for talented young show jumpers, under the patronage of the European Equestrian Federation (EEF), with the cooperation of the International Jumping Riders Club (IJRC) and the support of Rolex, the new selected group attended in June a weekly Education Conference.

The young show jumpers that will follow the third edition of this successful project are:

Full Program: Cassandra Braeckmans (Bel), Jack Dodd (Irl), Pal Flam (Nor), Eoin McMahon (Irl), Emma O’Dwyer (Gbr), Laura Klaphake (Ger)
