Talina (Matterhorn x Heidelberg), the 16-year-old mare that Swedish rider Douglas Lindelöw made his breakthrough in the top sport with, will be retired.

During the International Longines Horse Show of Lausanne Douglas spoke to WOSJ about his emotional decision. "I won the European Championships as a young rider with her and we also won the Grand Prix in Kiel. She has always been very competitive, we won a lot together and I will miss her at the shows. She has done a lot for me, and with her age we thought it was time to let her have it easy. We will keep her at our yard at home, and at the moment she is in the field - next year we plan to try breeding with her."
