At the CSI5*-W Helsinki International Horse Show, Sunday started with Swiss rider Martin Fuchs claiming his second win of the weekend riding Chaplini (Verdi x Concorde) in the 1.45m speed class presented by Yliopistollinen Eläinsairaala.

Fuchs had a time of 51,96 seconds, and out of the start field of 25 two managed to go faster. However, Germany's Marcel Marschall on Fenia van Klapscheut (Cicero Z van Paemel x Ahorn Z) and Ireland's Shane Breen on Ispwich van de Wolfsakker (Carembar de Muze x Quick Star) both saw one pole falling and had to settle for 8th and 9th place.

In the end going for a safe clear round really paid off, as many riders trying to catch the leading time had faults and in the end the class was left with six clears in total. The second place went to yesterday's Grand Prix winner Niels Bruynseels on Angel van't Hof (Chin Chin x Nabab de Reve) with a time of 52,53 seconds. Italian rider Gianni Govoni took the third place riding Winn Winn (Chin Chin x Wagenaar), but was lucky when his horse kicked out on a jump and the plank in the middle of the fence fell. As it was only the middle plank and not the top one, this did not count as a fault and the Italian rider still secured the third place.
