Casall Ask will during the following months make his last international appearances in the show ring, wrapping up what has been a wonderful career. This has been announced by the 17-year-old stallion’s rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and his owner the Holsteiner Verband.

Casall Ask will only jump a few more shows, before it all ends in Hamburg in May next year. In December, Casall Ask will compete in Geneva followed by Basel or Zurich in January – all shows that have been important for his career. Casall Ask will then go on to compete at Gothenburg Horse Show where he will say good bye to his Swedish fans, and his last appearance in front of the international crowds will take place during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Hamburg in May 2017.

“Casall Ask loves the sport, and he loves to win – so it will be a big change for him not to show anymore. For that reason, we decided that he should slowly be stepped down from the sport,” says Holsteiner Verband’s Norbert Boley and Casall Ask’s rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.

Casall Ask’s and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson have become one of the true power-pairs of showjumping, going into the history books as the winners of the 2016 Longines Global Champions Tour as well as recording victories in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix competitions of Doha, Valkenswaard and Paris during this season. The also have five-star Grand Prix, World Cup and Nations Cup victories from Rome (2015), London (2015), Doha (2014), Lyon (2014 and 2011), Basel (2014), Monte Carlo (2011), Hamburg (2011), Falsterbo (2010), Rotterdam (2010), Den Bosch (2010) and Oslo (2009) to look back at in addition to a team bronze medal from the 2013 European Championships in Herning. The two also jumped to a fourth place at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, participated at the 2012 Olympic Games and have taken part in three World Cup finals.
