Gregory Wathelet got himself an early Christmas present this year, buying back his former super star Forlap.

After much success together during the 2014 season, Wathelet and the 11-year-old gelding by Querlybet Hero x Heartbreaker parted ways back in June that same year when Alexander Onischenko bought Forlap – with Cassio Rivetti and later Rene Tebbel taking over the reins.

This summer, Forlap was part of the group of horses belonging to Onischenko sold to Paul Schockemöhle and Wathelet seized the opportunity to reunite with the gelding.

“I am of course very happy to have Forlap back with me, and that he now is all mine. He has already been back in my stables for a week, and the plan is to jump him as a third horse in the smaller classes in Geneva next week. I will slowly build him back up, and hope to have him ready for the bigger classes next year,” says Gregory Wathelet to World of Showjumping.
