The Polish riders dominated on home soil in the CSI3*-W Grand Prix World Cup of Warsaw on Sunday with Marek Lewicki and Abigej (Lupicor x Concorde) finishing on top.

Only two riders produced clears in the first round in this 1.55m competition; the winner Lewicki as well as Germany’s Harm Lahde on Larry 210 (breeding unknown). Both however, had one down in the second round against the clock with Lewicki being the fastest in 38.16 while Lahde stopped the clock at 39.19.

“I am very happy about the victory. The start list was full of good pairs, but the time allowed was very tight, that’s why there were a lot of faults,” said Marek Lewicki.

Following the top two were three Polish riders: Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski in third, Krzysztof Ludwiczak in fourth and Dawid Kubiak in fifth.

The event in Warsaw hosted the final of the Central European World Cup League. The athletes from this league qualified for the World Cup Final in Omaha, Nebraska, USA are: Dawid Kubiak (POL), Gábor Szabó Jr. (HUN) and Rein Pill (EST).

“I want to gain experience in the World Cup. My mind isn’t set on being ranked high, my priority is to ride the best I can on courses that used to be unreachable to me. I would like to do well technically,” said Dawid Kubiak after it was clear that he is ready for the World Cup Final.
