Guy Williams' loyal 17-year-old partner Titus (Lancelot x Rex Magna) had to be driven out of the ring with a horse ambulance during the Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup in Aachen on Thursday night, as the gelding was lame when landing after jumping the penultimate fence in the first round of the competition.

World of Showjumping met Williams on Friday morning in Aachen who explained the outcome of Thursday night's examinations. "Titus has strained a tendon. It is a shame this happened now - I was anyway planning to cool down his career after this show and not jump him so much anymore. He will go home with us,  and probably get to go out on the field - I think he will not be jumping anymore. He has been a great partner. I'd like to thank his owners Charlotte Baines and Joseph Rekert for their support throughout his career," Williams commented.
