Friday at CHI Geneva started with the Prix des Communes Genevoises, a 1.50m class in two phases and it was Italy’s Piergiorgio Bucci that came out on top.

Riding the 10-year-old gelding Heartbreaker v. Achterhoe (Bentley van de Heffinck x Catango Z), Bucci was the fastest of the starterfield of 55 horse-and-rider combinations, clocking the winning time of 28,57 seconds in phase two.

Paul Estermann (SUI) on the 9-year-old stallion Curtis Sitte (Ugano Sitte x Chellano Z) took the runner-up position after stopping the clocks at 28,91 in the second phase. Two young Irish talents followed him; Michael G Duffy (IRL) on the 8-year-old gelding Chappo Chey (Carell x Cornet Obolensky) took the third place with a time of 29,90 seconds, while Michael Duffy (IRL) on the 8-year-old mare Jule van den Tinnenpot (Calvaro x Major de la Cour) placed fourth with a time of 31,55. The fifth spot went to the last starter in the class, Severin Hillereau (FRA) on the 11-year-old gelding Check Picobello Z (Cardento 933 x Orlando), after the pair finished their round in 31,60 seconds.
