The Israel Show Jumping Team has announced the change of nationality for Alberto Michan, who is now officially an Israeli citizen and riding under the Israeli flag. ​Michan has previously represented Mexico.

“We are thrilled to have him as a member of Team Israel,” states Team Manager Hai Prince in a press release. “Michan is an invaluable addition to our team and his talent and sportsmanship bring us one step closer to our goal of bringing Team Israel to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.”

Under the Mexican flag, Michan placed 5th individually at the 2012 London Olympics, participated at the 2008 Olympics, competed at the 2006 and 2014 World Championships and at the Pan-American Games on several occasions where he was a team and individual medallist.
