Henrik von Eckermann and Flotte Deern 5 win the Longines Grand Prix of Sharjah

The CSI3* event in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, ended on Saturday with the 50,000 Euro Longines Grand Prix. Out of a starter field of 38 pairs, it was Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) on the 11-year-old mare Flotte Deern 5 (Forsyth FRH x Cala Milor) who took home the win after clocking a time of 37,53 seconds in the second round. Nigel Coupe (GBR) on the 15-year-old Golvers Hill (Ricardo Z x Hill of Clover) took the runner-up position with a time of 38,05 seconds, while Abdullah Al Sharbatly (KSA) on the 15-year-old Woulon L (Toulon x Laronia L) placed third after clocking a time of 39,45 seconds in round two. Natale Chiaudani (ITA) on the 9-year-old Queensland E (Quickfire de Ferann x Magie de Menardiere) placed fourth with a time of 40,63 seconds and the fifth spot went to Ioli Mytilineou (GRE) on the 12-year-old Broadway (Vancouver x Silvana's Heartbreak) with a time of 41,51 seconds. 

"This is only my second show with Flotte Deern," Von Eckermann commented to World of Showjumping. "I am very thankful for Al Shira'aa Stables for trusting me the ride on her."
