Friday's main class in Gothenburg, Sweden, was the CSI5* 1.50m against the clock presented by ATG. With 560,000 SEK of prize money on offer, a total of 35 horse-and-rider combinations were lined up for the challenge.

Marcus Ehning (GER) on the 13-year-old stallion Comme Il Faut (Cornet Obolensky x Ramiro) did an explosive round, taking an early lead with his time of 58,16 seconds. However, Daniel Deusser (GER) on the 10-year-old stallion Tobago Z (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve x Mr. Blue) pushed Ehning down to runner-up position after he crossed the finish line in 57,91 seconds – but the game wasn't over yet.

Luciana Diniz (POR) did not have the best day travelling to Gothenburg: Her flight was delayed, and she was rushed from the airport with her competition gear sent to meet her there. Having studied the course on paper on her way to Scandinavium, Diniz entered the ring with her 14-year-old mare Fit For Fun (For Pleasure x Fabriano) as the last rider to go. Clocking the time of 57,18, Diniz took home the win pushing Deusser and Ehning into second and third place respectively.

"Everybody helped me today, I am so thankful for my team and all the helpful people,” the happy winner said afterwards. "I tried to turn all the stress of the day into positive energy and keep my focus. I am glad it worked."

Irma Karlsson (SWE) on the 10-year-old mare Ida van de Bisschop (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Papillon Rouge) took the fourth place with a time of 58,99 seconds, while Werner Muff (SUI) on the 10-year-old gelding Cosby (Contendro I x Landadel) placed fifth with a time of 59,95.
