It was double German on top in Friday's biggest class at The Dutch Masters, with Daniel Deusser taking the win and Philipp Weishaupt finishing second in the CSI5* 1.55m VDL Groep Prize.

The world's very best have gathered at the Dutch leg of the Rolex Grand Slam this weekend, and brought out their top horses for Friday's feature class worth 62.000 Euro. Only two riders managed to produce double clears, and they were both German.

With a margin of 0.46 seconds, Daniel Deusser and his long-time partner Cornet D'Amour (Cornet Obolensky x Damiani) won the class after executing a beautiful jump-off leaving Weishaupt and LB Convall (Colman x Cascavelle) to runner-up position. Home hero Harrie Smolders, world no. two and Dutch Rider of the Year, finished third with Emerald (Diamant de Semilly x Carthago Z) with a score of four faults in the jump-off. Luciana Diniz (POR) and Fit For Fun (For Pleasure x Fabriano) finished fourth after a clear first round, while Alberto Zorzi (ITA) and Ego van Orti (Vigo D'Arsouilles Stx x Darco) took the fifth place after recording a single time penalty in the first round.
