Yet again, Aleksandr Onyshenko’s Carlina has brought the showjumping world an heir with a famous father. Only a month ago, a foal out of Carlina sired by Vivant was born – this time Nick Skelton’s Big Star is the famous father.

With Skelton in the saddle, Big Star took home two Olympic gold medals – team gold at the 2012 Olympics in London and individual gold at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. The two also won the prestigious 2013 Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen, the 2013 Grand Prix of Rome, the 2012 Grand Prix of Hamburg, the 2012 Warsteiner Prize/Prize of Europe of Aachen and the 2012 Grand Prix of Antwerp – to mention some of their many major victories.

Carlina jumped at the 2010 World Championships in Kentucky, the 2011 European Championships in Madrid and at the 2012 Olympic Games in London with Pius Schwizer in the saddle, and the pair also won the World Cup qualifiers in Oslo and Helsinki back in 2011 as well as ending second and third in the World Cup Final in Geneva in 2010 and in Den Bosch in 2013 before she was sold to Onyshenko in 2013.

Today was born Superstar Big Star from Mother Carlina ⭐️
