Romain Duguet, a Hermès partner rider who won the opening class on Friday, was hoping to see his name recorded on the winners’ list of the 9th Saut Hermès once again on Sunday morning as he put in a great performance in the Prix de la Ville de Paris. Riding Sherazade du Gevaudan (Tinka´s Boy x Iago C), the Swiss showjumper quickly set the best time of 27’’54 in this 1.50m Table A class in two phases, designed by Spanish course designer Santiago Varella.

However, Wilm Vermeir and Gentiane de La Pomme (Shindler de Muze x Diamant de Semilly), the penultimate couple in the ring showed that it was possible to go below the 27 second mark. Ranked 62nd in the world, the Belgian rider completed a clear round in 26”70. “I’m really happy with my horse,” said Wilm Vermeir. “She's always been very quick, but she spent a long time out of competition last year so I'm glad to see she's back at the highest level. I was a bit unlucky in the previous classes, so I’m just delighted to finish with a win on this last day at the Saut Hermès. There are really no words to describe this competition, it’s just amazing!”

French rider Julien Gonin on Well Done (Vdl Sheraton x Zeus) took the third place on the first podium of the day in 27”94. Alexandra Paillot, a 29-year-old Hermès partner rider, finished with the 4th quickest time of the 10 clear rounds in 28”89, just missing out on the podium.
