Fredrik Jönsson went into the six horse jump-off of the CSI3* TÍO PEPE Grand Prix today at the XXIV Sunshine Tour with the intention to win. Riding Cold Play (Contendro I x Honey Moon), the Swedish rider had a very fast time to beat set by the American combination of Taylor Alexander and Ryanair de Riverland (Quick Star x Papillon Rouge).

The course built by Uliano Vezzani from Italy proved extremely demanding, and the jump-off was equally testing. In the end Jönsson's time of 40.73 seconds was 0.2 faster than that of Alexander.

“It is my first time here at the Sunshine Tour and I am very happy with my result today. It was a difficult track and the course designer did a great job. Cold Play is a ten year old gelding, he is very careful and we are good friends which makes us a good team,” Jönsson commented after his win.

Just behind Taylor Alexander in second, and taking third was Norway's Marie Longem on Benito (Valentino x Voltaire) in 41.99 seconds. Fourth was Lars Bak Andersen riding Quel Filou 13 (Quidam's Rubin x Cascavelle) to a time of 42.92 seconds, while fifth was the young Spanish rider Otti Verdú on Top Lulú (Quidam de Revel x Nelfo du Mesnil) with the last double clear of this 1.50m class.
