A special collection of exclusively bred jumper foals will be auctioned during the first Borculo JST Foal Auction. The organization, the well-known Elite Foal Auction Borculo, selected six genetically high-valued, world class jumper foals who will come under the auction hammer during the CSI3* Jumping Schröder Tubbergen (JST) in the Netherlands on Friday, June 1. The countdown to this brand new auction concept is on!

All six auction foals descend from leading sires and are out of dam lines spiked with performance. The word ‘exclusive’ applies directly to the colts of Chacco Blue and Cumano. These two stallions will hardly give offspring anymore while both of them are worldwide recognised as top-class progenitors.

The colt from Chacco Blue is out of the still young mare Joss D (s. Bubalu VDL). Two of her half-brothers are qualified at 1.50m level and both her mother and grandmother performed successfully in the sport. The dam of the Cumano colt Conner de la Vie is the top breeding mare Tuut Tuut. This daughter of Heartbreaker already produced three(!) 1.60m classified jumping horses. Two of them are even through their father Berlin - like Cumano a son of Cassini I - genetically related to Conner de la Vie.

Fillies by Olympic giants Big Star and Quabri de l’Isle

Two very interesting fillies are also on the list of the Borculo JST collection. Both their sires performed convincingly at the Rio 2016 Olympics, with the golden Big Star in front. His daughter shows like her father a mighty canter. She is bred out of a well-known Holsteiner dam line and her mother Rising Sun I (s. Landjunge) already gave two approved and internationally performing stallions. Her great-grandmother is legendary and brought seven international jumpers classified from 1.40m till 1.60m level.

The other mentioned Rio 2016 crack is the phenomenal multiple Grand Prix winner Quabri de l’Isle. His filly has a fantastically bred dam. This Benthe W (s. Dollar du Murier) is a three-quarters full sister of the also phenomenal Sterrehof’s Calimero and a half-sister of Zilverstar VDL (1.60m).

Two colts, descending from the highly regarded Diamant de Semilly and Comme Il Faut, complete our collection. The son of genetic dream Comme Il Faut has also the performance sires Numero Uno, Baloubet du Rouet and Nimmerdor consecutively in his pedigree. The basis is a very strong dam line including his mother Jutravola, a half-sister of three international show jumpers. The same story applies to the colt from the French giant Diamant de Semilly. His mother Dylandra (s. Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) is a half-sister of three horses, who jumped at international level from 1.40 till 1.60m.

Jan Markink, chairman of the Elite Foal Auction Borculo, is confident about the first edition of this new auction: “All preconditions are met to make the Borculo JST Foal Auction a success. Once again our selection committee has succeeded in selecting a high-quality collection of jumper foals!”

Borculo JST: Where sport and breeding come together

The Elite Foal Auction Borculo and the BWG Stables of the Schröder brothers launched a complete new auction format bringing sport and breeding together. Since 1979, ‘Borculo’ is a household word within the equestrian world and this is partly due to the always progressive and innovating auction organisation.

Foal Auction Borculo is not only the first foal auction of the Netherlands or traditionally the first auction of the regular foal auction season, we are also first in the Netherlands based on the highest average auction prices. Our established and well-known auction will be organised on August 29th (jumper foals) and 30th (dressage foals) in Vragender but this year we kick off with the brand new Borculo JST Foal Auction on June 1, 2018 in Tubbergen!

Visitors will witness a program full of sport at international level during the CSI3 * Jumping Schröder Tubbergen. The presentation of the foals is directly after the 1.50m FEI ranking class and the auction is right after the closing 1.45m class. The entry for this event is free.
