Studforlife.com reports that the 14-year-old stallion Quartz Rouge (Ultimo van ter Moude x Qredo de Paulstra) will be retired from the sport, after a long and successful career.

With French rider Jerome Hurel in the saddle, Quartz Rouge jumped at the 2015 European Championships in Aachen for France. The pair has numerous top results to look back at: In 2015 the two were on the French winning Nations Cup team at CSIO5* Lummen and Sopot, and also finished second in the CSIO5* Nations Cup at Spruce Meadows as well as in the CSIO5* Nations Cup in Rotterdam. In 2014 they were a part of the winning French team in the Nations Cup in La Baule. Quartz Rouge and Hurel have a series of top placings in Grand Prix competitions around Europe as well, and finished in third place in the CSI5* Grand Prix of Dinard in 2015 as well as in the CSIO5* Grand Prix of Dublin in 2014.

In 2017, Philipper Rozier took over the reins on Quartz Rouge – with their last international appearance taking place in August last year.

We wish Quartz Rouge a happy retirement!
