Luca Maria Moneta makes it an Italian win in the CSI5* Premio BENTLEY Lugano at Ascona

Italy's Luca Maria Moneta won Friday's 1.50m Longines Ranking class in Ascona, the Premio BENTLEY Lugano, riding the 17-year-old Connery (Cordobes II x Polydor).

With a time of 37.60 in the jump-off, Moneta left no less than ten other double clear pairs behind him. Closest to the Italian rider came Marcel Marschall (GER) on Fenia van Klapscheut (Cicero Z van Paemel x Ahorn Z) after stopping the clocks on 38.07 seconds in the jump-off, while third place went to Douglas Lindelöw (SWE) on Zacramento (Cardento x Cortus) in 38.10 seconds. Felix Haßmann (GER) finished fourth, and Robert Whitaker (GBR) fifth. 

Earlier in the day, Sweden's Malin  Baryard-Johnsson won the 1.45m Premio HOTEL EDEN ROC Ascona riding H&M Second Chance (Carland x White Clover). Robert Smith (GBR) and Ilton (Dulf van den Bisschop x Calvaro) followed in second, and Christophe Vanderhasselt (BEL) on Gino van de Vrunte (Jokinal de Bornival x Karioka del Follee) in third.
