On Thursday, Nicola Philippaerts competed Bisquet Balou C (Balou du Rouet x Polydor) for the very last time. With a clear round and a fifth place in the Leon Melchior Open Zangersheide Sires of the World competition, the 13-year-old stallion retired from the sport. Bisquet Balou C now moves to France where he will be used for breeding.
Together, Bisquet Balou C and Nicola Philippaerts produced several top Grand Prix and Nations Cups world-wide.
"Bisquet Balou C now moves to France, and Groupe France Elevage," says Ludo Philippaerts in a press release. "There, he will continue with a breeding career. As of next year, he will available on fresh semen – also in Belgium. He is an incredibly good horse, but has been unable to get everything out of his potential in his sporting career. For the breeding, he'll be very meaningful."
