After a long and successful career, it was announced this week that Denis Lynch’s All Star 5 (Argentinus x Alme) will be retired from the sport. The 16-year-old bay stallion started his international career with Lynch in 2011 and has since then won and been placed in a number of major five-star classes all over the world.
Wins in Barcelona, Cannes, Valkenswaard and podium finishes in Grand Prix classes and World Cups in Bordeaux, Doha, La Coruña, Leipzig, London, Lyon, Mechelen, and Zürich are just some of the many top results that this extremely consistent pair can look back at. Most memorable however is probably the team gold for Ireland at the European Championships in 2017, as well as a 9th place at World Equestrian Games in 2014, participation at four World Cup Finals and many successful appearances in Nations Cups for the Irish team.
With this we look back at All Star’s career with Lynch, and some of many, many magic moments. Happy retirement All Star!
