Beezie Madden (USA) and Darry Lou (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Nabab de Reve) won Friday's CSIO5* 1.60m Tourmaline Oil Cup at the Spruce Meadows 'Masters', as one of only two double clears.

"I had the luck of the draw tonight. There was only one after me and I knew all I had to do was go clear and be a little faster," Beezie Madden said about the jump-off.

Madden crossed the timers in 42.81 seconds, two seconds faster than runner-up Max Kühner (AUT) with Alfa Jordan (Air Jordan x Lancelot). Third place went to the quickest rider of the jump-off – Martin Fuchs (SUI) with Silver Shine (Califax x Balou du Rouet) but with four faults he had to settle in behind Madden and Kühner.

Daniel Bluman (ISR) with Ladriano Z (Lawito x Gambelle) ended fourth ahead of Mario Deslauriers (CAN) with Bardolina 2 (Clarimo x Villmey) in fifth.
