FEI CSI5* competition continued at the HITS Championship with the $75,000 AIG Jumper Classic on Friday afternoon, and the first rounds of the Diamond Mills $250,000 and Platinum Performance $100,000 Hunter Prix Finals. Schuyler Riley soared to the blue in the AIG Jumper Classic.
The third FEI class of the week welcomed 64 riders to the Wilmington Trust Grand Prix Stadium all in the hunt for the lion's share of prize money. The field was stacked with international riders representing New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and of course the United States.
Joining the winners circle and moving up from her second place finish in the $35,700 Horselfight Jumper Classic on Thursday was Schuyler Riley aboard Quilimbo. Last to go in the jump-off, Riley clinched the lead in the time of 38.14. Riley also secured the third place ribbon aboard Iceman de Muze in a time of 39.93.
Brian Moggre returned to accept another top placing in international competition this week, this time for his ride on MTM Vivre le Reve in a time of 38.73, just six hundredths of a second behind Riley.
International riders return to the Wilmington Trust Grand Prix Stadium tomorrow for the Saugerties $500,000 Grand Prix FEI CSI5*.
