It was Rowan Willis (AUS) and the incredible Blue Movie (Chacco Blue x Pilot) that ended on top of the podium in Saturday night’s CSI5*1.55m Credit Suisse Challenge at CHI Geneva.

“Blue Movie is such an incredible horse for me and she was on top form tonight. She felt amazing! This is my first time here in Geneva, so it is great to have a win with such a supportive crowd,” Willis said to World of Showjumping after his victory.

A total of 44 horse-and-rider combinations competed in the class that was a Table A against the clock and 11 of them delivered a clear round.

Willis and Blue Movie came in halfway through the class and shaved off 2.79 seconds on the leading time set by Gregory Wathelet (BEL) with Spike v Withoeve (Sting v Withoeve x Funny Girl van Deinze). In the end, Wathelet had to settle for fifth place as Roger Yves Bost (FRA) with Castleforbes Vladimir (Vivaldo van het Costersveld x Quick Star), Scott Brash (GBR) with Hello Vincent (Consul DI Vie Z x Fergar Mail) and Daniel Deusser (GER) with Cornet 39 (Cornet Obolensky x Caletto I) all squeezed in between Wathelet and Willis in second, third and fourth place respecitvely.

Earlier during the evening, Werner Muff (SUI) made it a home win in the 1.45m speed competition Prix Starling Hotel Geneva riding Varennes d’Argonne (l’Arc de Triomphe x Apache d’Adriers). Second place went to Pedro Veniss (BRA) with Sun Flower du Theil (Allegreto x Quidam de Revel) and third place to Pius Schwizer (SUI) with Balou Rubin R (Balou du Rouet x Couleur-Rubin).
