Edited press release from CSI3*-W Budapest
Saturday’s feature class at CSI3*-W Budapest was the 1.40-1.60m Prize of the Ministry of Human Capacities, a World Cup qualifier in the Central European League. A total of 50 riders had qualified for the competition, that had 50,000 Euro in prize money and Longines Ranking points on offer. Eventually, seven riders managed to deliver clear rounds and moved on to the jump-off.
Laura Renwick, Friday’s winner, was first to go in the jump-off with Arkuga (Arko III x Heartbreaker) and gave the maximum. The experienced British rider completed the track not only clear but in a fast time that was hard to beat: 35.25 seconds.
Renwick's lead lasted until Swiss rider Alain Jufer, as last to go, was able to bring the time down to 34.51 seconds – snatching the win. Third place went to Dutch rider Johnny Pals on Fernando (For Pleasure x San Patrignano Corrado) with a time of 35.61 seconds.
