The 11-year-old mare Killer Queen VDM (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x For Pleasure – breeders Ann & Dirk Bruggeman-Carpentier/VDM) was awarded the prestigious Halla Challenge Trophy as CHIO Aachen came to an end on Sunday.

The Halla Challenge Trophy is awarded to the owner of the most successful horse in the classical jumping competitions at CHIO Aachen. It was founded in 1996 by the late Mr. Hans Günter Winkler. The Halla-Bronze is an everlasting challenge trophy, where each winner will receive a miniature of the trophy in bronze.

With Daniel Deusser in the saddle, Killer Queen VDM jumped double clear in Thursday's Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup and won Sunday's Rolex Grand Prix after a triple clear round – collecting a total of 34 points. The mare is owned by Stephex Stables and Daniel Deusser.

Only two points separated Killer Queen VDM from Brian Moggre's mount Balou du Reventon (Cornet Obolensky x Continue – breeder Gestüt Lewitz) – owned by Ann Thompson. The 15-year-old stallion was also double clear in the Nations Cup, and triple clear in the Grand Prix. Gregory Wathelet's partner Nevados S (Calvados Z x Romualdo – breeder Stanislaw Szurik), owned by the Nevados Group, ended third with 27 points.
