Current world number two Daniel Deusser (GER) made his mark at CSI5*-W Jump Saudi in Riyadh on Thursday, taking the 1.50m big tour speed class win on Jasmien vd Bisschop (Larino x Chin Chin) straight after a second-place aboard Bingo Ste Hermelle ( Number One d'Iso x Diamant de Semilly) in the 1.40/1.45m medium tour two-phase competition.
In a close second place, under half a second behind the German, was home crowd favourite Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) and Quincy (Quintender 2 x Lando). The local rider received a standing ovation as he stopped the clock in 68.49 seconds to claim the runner-up position. On form, Ibrahim Hani Bisharat (JOR) and Astuce du Cellier la (Ogano Sitte x Quick Sar) rounded off the podium with a solid clear but in a much slower time of 72.15 seconds. Hani Kamal Raji Bsharat (JOR) had the last clear round of the class, to end fourth with Chatinue (Chacco-Blue x Continue).
Mike Kawai (JPN) won the 1.40/1.45m medium tour two-phase competition aboard Saxo de la Cour (Tlaloc M x Jalisco B), ahead of Daniel Deusser on Bingo Ste Hermelle and Philipp Weishaupt on Coby (Contagio x Escudo 19).
