Harrie Smolders' top horse Monaco (Cassini II x Contender) is the new no. one on the WBFSH Breeders Ranking for 2022, which includes results for the period from 1 October 2021 to 31 May 2022. The 13-year-old Holstein gelding, bred by Ralf Leutja, has taken over the lead with a total of 1088 points. 

Just like last month, Conor Swail has two horses in the top three: The 13-year-old Selle Francais gelding Vital Chance de La Roque (Diamant de Semilly x Rivage du Poncel), bred by Marie Bourdin, is up from rank three to two with 1076 points, while last month's no. one Count Me In (Count Grannus x Sherlock Holmes), bred by Friedrich Luessmann, is rank three with 1060 points. Two of Henrik von Eckermann's horses are ranked fourth and fifth: King Edward (Edward 28 x Feo), a 12-year-old BWP-gelding bred by Wim Impens, is no. four, and the 11-year-old KWPN mare Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I), bred by Stoeterij Gaesbeek V.O.F., no. five. 

The breeder rankings are published monthly from the April extraction cycle onwards. At the end of the cycle, the breeder of the horse with the most points in each discipline is crowned WBFSH Breeder of the Year for each respective discipline. The top breeders are celebrated during the Longines WBFSH Breeder Awards.

For the studbooks, BWP still leads the way with 5094 points, with King Edward, Igor van de Wittemore (Cooper vd Heffinck x Orlando) and Joyride S (Toulon x Pachat II) being their best three horses. Stud Book du Cheval Selle Français follows in rank two on 5038 points, with Vital Chance de La Roque, Rouge de Ravel (Ultimo Van Ter Moude x Quouglof Rouge) and Billabong du Roumois (Mylord Carthago *HN x Papillon Rouge) as their three best ambassadors. New as rank three is the Holsteiner Verband, that has a total of 4977 points – with Monaco, Limbridge (Limbus x Camebridge) and Con Quidam RB (Quinar Z x Cardino 5) being their top three horses.
