Last week, Billy Twomey announced the decision to retire his fantastic partner Tinka's Serenade at the age of 19. Tinka’s Serenade (Tinka’s Boy x African Drum) has had a tremendous career with Twomey in the saddle; together they went to the 2010 World Equestrian Games, the 2011 European Championships as well as the 2012 Olympic Games. The two also went to the 2011 and 2014 World Cup finals.
Tinka has taken several big wins with Billy: in 2011 they won the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final in Paris, the Rolex Grand Prix in Zürich, Nations Cups in Lummen and Aachen, then in 2013 the Horse of the Year Show Grand Prix in addition to notching up numerous other big wins and podium finishes in Grand Prix competitions, World Cups and Nations Cups around the world.
This is our tribute to this very special mare, as we wish her a happy and peaceful retirement.
