Epaillard takes a speedy win in Lyon

Saturday at the CSI5*-W event in Lyon, France, started with a 1.50m in two phases presented by Boehringer-Ingelheim. Julien Epaillard (FRA) on the 9-year-old gelding Instit de Jucaso (Cooper van de Heffinck x Darco) topped the field of 35 riders with a lightning fast round in a time of 31,69 seconds.

Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) on the only 8-year-old stallion Chalou (Chacco Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) took the runner-up position with a time of 33,32 seconds, while Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) on the 10-year-old gelding Heartbreaker vd Achterhoe (Bentley van de Heffinck x Catango Z) took the third spot  with a time of 33,80 seconds.

With six French riders in the top ten, the hosts left little for their foreign guests; Grégory Cottard (FRA) on the 9-year-old mare Urhelia Lutterbach (Helios de la Cour II x Emilion) placed fourth with a time of 34,35 seconds and Robin Muhr (FRA) on the 9-year-old stallion Unforgettable Damvil (Corrado x Papillon Rouge) took the fifth spot with a time of 34,43 seconds.
